Fundacion Guia was established in 2008 by 2 friends of mine who I worked with previously in Nicaragua. They had seen the need to help teenagers in their transition to adulthood. Also that many organisations work with children until they are 18 and from there they can be left on their own.
Guia helps youths from 15 to 25 with improving their education and skills to gain more meaningful employment. There are programmes to capacitate the participants with job skills and grants to give them valuable financial support before they can earn a significant income.
We found our first guide, Rogelio through Fundacion Guia and he’s still very happily working with us. in fact he’s out on a tour as I write this. We provide Fundacion Guia with financial assistance and remain closely involved in their activities.
