Ciruelitos (Little Plums)

Los Ciruelitos is a guarderia (kindergarten/day-care centre) in one of Sucre’s poorer, outlying suburbs, Aranjuez. The mothers of the children mostly come from the countryside where we hike to work in the city. As they don’t have their family around them, they rely on this centre to care for their children.

Henrry, one of our guides has a close relationship with the community of Aranjuez and he alerted us to their need for assistance. Condor Trekkers now provides money for lunches and excursions.

We also encourage our volunteers to go to the centre as they love visitors. They are also looking for daily volunteers and if anyone is interested, we can arrange this. Be warned that you will need a lot of energy to play with 30 kids.
